Part-time Mayor

(Potential for promotion to full-time Mayor)

Since Boris Johnson became Mayor, it’s become clear that he sees this as a part-time job. To be frank, we’re amazed if he turns up at all, and when he is here, he gets nothing done, as he’s so disorganised.

Of course, we should have expected this. Everyone who’s ever worked with Boris knows that he often doesn’t even turn up to meetings that he himself has called.

Like the voters, we were hoping it was all just a comic act for the TV cameras, but sadly he really is that hopeless. He’s been sacked from pretty much every post he’s ever had, including a job at The Times and two front-bench jobs in the Conservative party. His record of incompetence is unrivalled.

So we’re looking to recruit someone to do the hard, important work, impacting on the day-to-day lives of Londoners, which Boris simply isn’t capable of.

And if we can find a way to sack him from this job, there might just be a permanent post available.

If he gets the job, he gets it for four long years, no matter how badly he does it.

Being Mayor is too important a job to risk giving it to a chancer like Boris.
