&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;strong&gt;better&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;n&lt;/em&gt; a person who bets (also &lt;strong&gt;bettor&lt;/strong&gt;).&lt;/blockquote&gt;

So we're both right, but I certainly wouldn't want to suggest the other meaning :D  So yours wins on the grounds of removing ambiguity.

I noticed you were wondering whether you should cast a vote against Boris on your blog the other day. I hope my gracious defeat in this battle of the agent nouns encourages you to do the right thing ;)</description>
